Zurich Cross-City Link operational
After its inception on June 15, 2014, the 9.6 km long Zurich Cross-City Link (DML) forms a central part of the west-east axis for Swiss rail traffic. The Geneva-Berne-Zurich Airport-St. Gallen is bound to profit most from this increase in capacity.
The DML passes through the City of Zurich from Altstetten via the Central Station to Oerlikon in a wide arc. The underground through station Löwenstraße [1; 2] forms its core; it is 16 m beneath the current tracks 4 to 9 of the dead-end station on the surface.
