InnoTrans 2016: more than 100 % of the Exhibition Space requested

The German trade fair InnoTrans has made a promising start to the event year 2016. “With the expiry of the registration deadline, more than 100 percent of the exhibition space had been requested. The high demand is good news and exceeds the capacity of our exhibition area by far. We are working intensively to enable almost all exhibitors to take part, although it could be the first time that not all registrations can be confirmed,” said InnoTrans project manager Kerstin Schulz.

The InnoTrans is the leading international trade fair for transport technology and takes places every two years in Berlin. More than 133 000 specialist visitors from 146 countries attended in 2014 and were able to inform themselves about innovations in the global rail industry from 2700 exhibitors from 55 countries. The five segments of the InnoTrans are Railway Technology, Railway Infrastructure, Public Transport, Interiors and Tunnel Construction. The event is organised by the Messe Berlin. The eleventh InnoTrans will take place from 20 to 23 September 2016 at the Berliner Messe.

The list of participants for the opening ceremony on 20 September is also good news. About nine months in advance, Violeta Bulc, the EU transport commissioner, has already announced she will travel to Berlin. German politics will be represented by the Federal Minister for Transport and Digital Infrastructure, Alexander Dobrindt, and the mayor of Berlin, Michael Müller. Also attending will be Dr. Rüdiger Grube, Chairman of German Railways DB and Jürgen Fenske, president of the association of German transport organisations (VDV e. V.).
