Albvorland Tunnel: TBM “Sibylle” Arrives at Wendlingen
The first tunnel boring machine (TBM) “Sibylle” completed its work in early August 2019. It had been used for driving the Albvorland Tunnel between Kirchheim unter Teck and Wendlingen am Neckar. In just over a year and a half, the 120 m long TBM excavated some 700 m of the Albvorland Tunnel’s north tube on the new Wendlingen–Ulm rail route of the Deutsche Bahn.
