Biggest individual Project started for Emscher Redevelopment Scheme
It is the biggest individual project within the scope of the “Emscher Redevelopment” – a generation-spanning scheme providing the prerequisite for modernising the region’s hydro-economic structure: the building of the Emscher wastewater canal over no less than 35 km from Dortmund to Bottrop. The contract for the project worth 420m euros was awarded by the Emschergenossenschaft to Wayss & Freytag Ingenieurbau in January 2012. Work on the canal will begin at several places along the Emscher between Dortmund and Bottrop in spring.
