Traceability of Explosives

Within the scope of the EU Guidelines 2008/43/EG and 2012/4/EU businesses dealing with explosives are committed as from April 5, 2015 to assure complete traceability of explosives that are stored and consumed.In mid-2013 the German company Ontaris GmbH & Co. KG thus embarked on a system which fulfils these guidelines.

Over several months the requirements and processes in quarries, mines and other locations using explosives were analysed. In close collaboration with master blasters from various sectors a list of demands was drawn up. Talks with representatives of authorities and manufacturers...
