Hirschhagen Tunnel: Polypropylene Fibre Concrete for enhanced Fire Resistance
The Hirschhagen Tunnel, which was commissioned by Hessen Mobil – Straßen- und Verkehrsmanagement, is a construction section of the A44 federal motorway between Kassel and Herleshausen. It will run from Helsa to Hessisch Lichtenau. Work on building the 4.2 km long motorway tunnel commenced in early June 2013. It is to be provided with two twin-lane bores, which are connected by 15 cross-passages, some of which can be negotiated by vehicles.
