Both Tubes of the Solbakk Tunnel

After excavating for more than four years, the first tube of the 7980 m long Solbakk Tunnel, currently the world`s longest subsea tunnel, was broken though at the end of 2017. The tunnel belongs to the northern contract section of the Ryfast project between Stavanger and Tau. The breakthrough of the second tube took place in January 2018.
The client is the Norwegian Roads Administration in Leikanger. The JV of Marti IAV Solbakk DA, comprising Marti Contractors Ltd., Marti Norge AS, IAV and TuCon a.s., was commissioned to carry out the construction work. The project will cost around 172 million...
