The Channel Tunnel:
4 Safety Zones with Water Mist Technology

The Channel Tunnel, which began operating in 1994, is some 50 km long and forms the rail link beneath the English Channel between Calais in France and Folkestone in England. Up to 450 trains per day pass through the 2 single-track bores of the tunnel: goods trains and lorry shuttles in addition to the high-speed train Eurostar and car shuttles. Around 16 mill. people use the tunnel on an annual basis.
