2009 STUVA Conference in Hamburg

Following the opening of the STUVA Conference bearing the motto “Tunnels – Key to sustainable Mobility” and the opening speech on “The new HafenCity Hamburg: Urban Planning Concept and Traffic Links” (effective development of traffic (public commuter transportation) for more than 100,000 people including extending the Metro Line U4, which is currently being constructed) the 2009 STUVA Prize was awarded (tunnel 1/19, pp. 32–34) and the keynote lecture “The Tunnel mirrored in Culture – the Tunneller as reflected in the World of Literature and the Arts” delivered.
