Shotcrete has become an indispensable element in sustaining any underground construction excavated by non-integral methods, both in civil works and mining. With the launch of the shotcrete monitoring system Geokret, Putzmeister responds to the need of rigorous qualitative and quantitative control of the applied shotcrete to ensure optimal execution of the tunnel construction. Integrated into the Putzmeister spraying machine, Geokret includes a 3D laser-scanner and software for real-time analysis of the excavated profile and applied shotcrete layers, which allows the operator to immediately identify and correct under- and overbreak as well as insufficient shotcrete layer thickness.
