World Tunnel Congress 2022 in Copenhagen: Trade Exhibition Larger Than Expected
The World Tunnel Congress 2022 will be held in the Danish capital Copenhagen from 2 to 8 September 2022 – more than three years after the last WTC, which ended in Naples, Italy, on 7 May. The following Kuala Lumpur 2020 event, like so many others, had to be cancelled due to Covid pandemic restrictions. For the Copenhagen Congress, originally scheduled for 2021, an alternative date in April 2022 was first found, but this also proved impossible to plan reliably.
So now it is September 2022 – a new schedule but the same venue: the Bella Center in Copenhagen. From more than 400 submitted abstracts, 148 presentations were selected for the extensive lecture programme, which will be held in four parallel sessions in front of an international audience.
The opening ceremony of the congress will take place on Monday, 5 September. Following the Muir Wood Lecture and the presentations of the keynote speakers, the trade exhibition will then be officially launched at noon.
More Than 170 Exhibitors Registered
On a total of three days, up to and including Wednesday, 7 September, companies from the worldwide tunnel industry will welcome trade visitors at their stands parallel to the lecture sessions. The joint organisers of DFTU (Danish Society for Tunnels and Underground Works) and ITA (International Tunnelling and Underground Space Association) were rewarded for the wait: with 140 available booths, the trade exhibition was planned to be far too small and had to be expanded due to the high demand. By July 2022, a total of 172 exhibitors had registered for a place in the Bella Center.
Further information on the participating companies and organisations as well as on all other questions concerning the WTC 2022 in Copenhagen can be found on the congress website.
