In Israel, the Züblin-Jäger Joint Venture is constructing a tunnel to supply water to Jerusalem. Tunnel-boring machine (TBM) "Isabel" is chewing its way, with a tremendous din, through the mass of rock. The cutter head gradually comes to a standstill. Frenetic activity by technicians and engineers immediately begins in the tunnel. Discussions take place, measurements are made, and maintenance work on the cutters performed – and the radios operate at top speed.
