Swiss Tunnel Congress 2021 Cancelled

Due to the still tense COVID-19 situation and the associated lack of planning certainty, the board of the Swiss Tunnelling Society (STS) decided at the end of 2020 to cancel the Swiss Tunnel Congress (STC) 2021. STS President Stefan Maurhofer emphasised that this decision was not easy for the board, but was nevertheless unavoidable, as the planning and implementation of the STC requires a large financial commitment, which could not be compensated for if the event were to be cancelled again at short notice. In order not to endanger the financial situation of the STS, the board had seen itself forced to take this decisive step at an early stage. An online congress as a virtual substitute event is not planned.

STS Still Aims to Hold the Colloquium

The Board of the STS, however, still aims to hold the STC Colloquium as scheduled on 14 June 2021, naturally taking into account all the necessary safety measures. In due course, the Swiss Tunnelling Society will provide information on the venue, the programme content and the schedule of the colloquium.
