Swiss Tunnel Congress 2017
What exactly do we mean when we talk about Building Information Modeling – and what are we going to do with it? This year’s STC on May 31st was attended by more than 700 participants and once again dealt
with a broad spectrum of topics, presented in
14 lectures about international and Swiss
tunnelling projects.
„The maintenance and modernization of existing structures is an equally essential subject, that deserves our special consideration,” said Stefan Maurhofer (Fig.1), president of the Swiss Tunnelling Society, host of the STC, in his opening address at the Lucerne Culture and Convention Centre (KKL). Correspondingly this year’s Swiss Tunnelling Colloquium, held at the previous day, was titled “Maintenance and Renewal of Traffic Tunnels”, and with 375 participants this colloquium turned out to be a highly successful one.
