Jagdberg Tunnel in Thuringia – Injection Structures
The part-section including the approx. 3.1 km long Jagdberg Tunnel takes on a key role during the upgrading of the federal motorway A 4 in Thuringia/D. Injection structures in the Jagdberg Tunnel serve to collect and remove underground water, which might possibly be aggressive to concrete. This report deals with planning, execution and monitoring.
1 Introduction
The A 4 federal motorway is one of the most significant east-west links on the Federal Republic of Germany’s highway network. It connects the centres of Rhine-Main and the Ruhr District with Thuringia and Saxony as well as the developing economic region in east and south-east Europe.
Within the overall project entailing the “redevelopment and new construction of the A 4 motorway”, the part-section between the Magdala and Jena-Göschwitz hubs takes on a key role on account of the shortcomings of the existing route and issues involving scheduling.
