Construction work on Line U12 of the Stuttgart Stadtbahn between the main station and the city library will continue until the middle of 2016 (the Stadtbahn network is run by the Stuttgarter Straßenbahnen AG (SSB) and developed from the city tram system; it runs underground in the city centre and along roads in outer areas). Since the main line tunnel to the new underground main station, which is part of the Stuttgart 21 project, is planned to run at almost the same level as the existing Stadtbahn tunnel under the Heilbronner Straße, the existing line from the main station to the city library...
