DBV presents the Emil Mörsch Medal to Dr. Karl Morgen

Dr.-Ing. Karl Morgen, 1st deputy chairman on the board of STUVA, the Research Association for Underground Transportation Facilities Inc., was delighted to accept the Emil Mörsch Commemorative Medal presented by the German Society for Concrete and Construction Technology (DBV). The ceremony took place during the German Construction Technology Congress at the end of April. The DBV presented its highest award to mark Dr. Morgen’s achievements in a wide range of disciplines.

Dr. Morgen studied structural engineering at the TU Karlsruhe from 1972 to 1977. The university presented him with the Tulla Medal and the BilfingerBerger Prize for the best result ever obtained by a graduate in his field at Karlsruhe at the time. After acquiring his doctorate he embarked on a career in practice, was active abroad and later switched to the Ingenieurbüro Windels Timm Beratende Ingenieure in Hamburg, where he soon became managing partner. Subsequently the firm was renamed Windels Timm Morgen, which is now well known as WTM Engineers. Since 1990, Dr. Morgen has been an internationally recognized test engineer for structural design for all disciplines. He contributes his knowledge to numerous engineering associations, technical-scientific societies and consultative bodies or is involved in their executives.
