However, the LEV goes one step further by replacing the conventional combustion engine with a powerful electric unit and at the same time offering unique battery technology.

Well-Designed Fire Protection

One of the outstanding features of this vehicle is the safety it offers in hazardous working environments. The individual cells of the battery designed and manufactured
by SMT Scharf are surrounded by a dielectric. This means that in the very unlikely event of a defective cell and a resulting fire, the dielectric insulates the fire, absorbs the heat and thus prevents other cells from igniting on the burning cell – a protective function that other electric cars do not currently offer. The LEV is a very robust off-road vehicle with an electric drive developed by SMT Scharf, which is ideally suited for use in tunnels thanks to a carefully thought-out fire protection system
