Second Bore for Bosruck Tunnel

The Asfinag as operator of the motorway in Austria has commissioned the construction of a second tunnel bore with 5 breakdown bays and
11 cross-passages (6 of them negotiable with vehicles) for the at present 2-lane bidirectional Bosruck Tunnel as well as redevelopment of the existing tunnel bore. Thanks to the complete renewal of the Bosruck Tunnel with directional traffic flowing in 2 bores a bottleneck causing tailbacks on the A9 Pyhrn Autobahn will be removed. After beginning work in 2009 the completion of the 2nd bore is expected in 2013 and the tunnel will be fully operational in 2015...
