10th Rock Mechanics and Tunnelling Day on 22 May 2025 in Weinheim

On 22 May 2025, the 10th Rock Mechanics and Tunnelling Day will take place at the WBI Center in Weinheim (Germany). The conference will be organized by WBI GmbH, sponsored by the German Railway (DB InfraGO AG) and supported by the German Engineering Association (Arbeitskreis Bautechnik of the Württembergische Ingenieurverein). It is an event of 1-day duration offering lectures on interesting issues of rock mechanics and underground projects.

Registration Until 3 April 2025

The conference language of the event is German. Simultaneous translations from German to English or German to Spanish are possible. Registration for participation is possible until 3 April 2024, either by email: wbi@
wbionline.de or via the online form on the website www.felsmechanik.eu. The complete programme and all necessary travel information can also be found there.

Lecture Topics

The “Rock mechanics, tunnels and underground construction” segment includes, for example, the presentations “Compressed air in mechanised and conventional tunnelling in soil and rock”, “Digitalisation and automation of tunnelling” and “Progress in the development of innovations to accelerate the renewal of railway tunnels”.
In the second session of the day, entitled “Sustainability”, the holistic approach to the utilisation of excavated tunnel material will be discussed. Another presentation will deal with the use of CO2-reduced concrete in the construction of the London Power Tunnel.
The project presentations will deal with the elevation injections in the construction of the Marienhof station as part of
the  2nd S-Bahn main line in Munich, the rail partnership
model in the planning of the Pfaffensteig Tunnel and hard
rock tunnelling at the West Link/Korsvägen project in
Gothenburg.
